What You Should Know About Curtains and Sheers
We manufacture curtains from a variety of fabrics, each of them with unique properties. To control the temperature of the room, the curtain gap between the material and the door or window should be minimal.

We use sheer fabric for privacy curtains. During the day sheer curtains allow the occupants inside a home to view the outside while shielding the occupants from outside. Its translucent fabric allows maximum light through and provides a basic shield from UV light. However, at night the sheer material offers less in terms of insulation and privacy.

Caring for your curtains ensures they last a long time. We recommend that there should be a 10cm gap between the door or window and the curtain. Doing this allows for better air circulation and prevents mildew or a build-up of heat, both of which cause damage to curtain material. We also suggest regular dusting and vacuuming with washing recommended once in a while.

Coated and uncoated fabrics. Most curtains comprise uncoated fabrics with tightly woven fibres that are opaque when viewed in light. There is a reasonable level of UV protection due to the material, but it doesn’t absorb strong light sources. Coated curtains provide more absorption due to the opaque rubber backing applied to the rear of the fabric. It’s capable of absorbing between 50% to 70% of light sources and should block out sunlight.
